THE BROKEN CHAIN

We never knew that morning that God was going to call your name,

In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us happy memories, your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

The best Nan and Grandad you could ever ask for. We are such a close family and it broke our hearts when we lost you Nan first to cancer. It was so sudden and it still hurts me to think about it now. Many of us dont like to still talk about it as we find it just too hard. There have been quite a few additions to the family in recent years, more great grandsons for you and grandad. Both Lisa and I have had 2 boys who you would think the world of. There is Lewis and Jack, Jared and Sebastian. We are all still so close and will remain so. I think about you all the time and Mum still can't look at your pictures because she finds it too hard. I try to talk to her about you but most of the time she clams up. Sorry your grave isnt looking it's best, we will get up there in the summer and fix it all up lovely for you, Grandad and Vinnie. I am pleased I said my goodbyes to you before you looked too ill, I will never forget that day and that last cuddle Nan. You were our legendary Nanny Mac, always letting us get away with murder so long as we had fun. The best times were at your house with Grandad a nervous wreck that we would break something, and Danny and Tina usually did! We did have some laughs and I have got them all stored in my heart. I remember the smell of you, your laugh, the way you always saw the best in people regardless of anything. You were truly a one and only, I dont think there have been many strong women like you in a lifetime.

Grandad, you were just so tired, I think you were ready to go to sleep. You fought your way back from illness so many times but this time your body had just had it. We all came to be with you as much as we could but it upset us terribly to see you so uncomfortable and in pain. The day we lost you was very painful and although we were relieved you were out of pain we were sorry we would never get to see you again. We love you very much and are pleased you are at peace now with Nan.

We all love you forever Nan & Grandad and I wish I could cuddle you just one more time. We all love you as much today as always. All the memories are good..........

Nun night and God Bless Nan and Grandad

Missing you......

Nan and Grandad, I miss you terribly. I hope that wherever you are, you are happy and out of pain. I wish you could have got to meet both my boys and Damian, I have told them all about you and will continue to do so as they grow up. We have your pictures all over the place so it still feels a little bit like you are still here. I miss you both and love you dearly.

Love Suzanne xxxxx
